Love's paragon

"Love is always patient and kind; It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins but delights in the truth; It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes."

- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

I have always been stunned by this biblical passage since the day I was totally introduced to it, when I watched the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' A Walk to Remember. Since then, it has been one of the few biblical verses I love.

some versions have this one:

"Love does not keep a record of wrongs" (1 Corinthians 13:5)

that's my favorite part of this passage. and i think it's also the most difficult to follow :p

@James: Thanks. I also like that line. There's actually a song I like entitled Love Never Fails. :)
@Tokikot: It's nice that you also like a part of this passage though in a different version. 1 Corinthians 13's profession of Love is quite difficult to uphold as it is seemingly ideal for the reality that's in us. Still, we stand up for it. :D

yeah, that's the best biblical quote about love. i may be a self-proclaimed cynic, but i nevertheless believe that love, indeed, never fails. god knows what's best for us, and gives us the person--that someone--who truly deserve our love. =)

thanks for your comments drake

From what version of the Bible is this? I was looking for this exact same verse in different translations but could not find it.

Hola Noel! I am not certain from what version this translation can be found. It was only extracted from A Walk to Remember. Personally, I like how it was made - not very scriptural in form, and so is less intimidating.
